I have never understood those people that choose to wear all black or all gray. Mostly urban populations yet I come from Chicago and there is nothing worse than a dull wardrobe in the midst of winter bleakness. Personally, I think black should be for your "not so skinny" days or as a foundation. I love as much color, patterns, textures as possible. Heck, why not mix a few patterns. Find the inner child in you...remember when you used to dress yourself?

Red velvet cupcakes are pretty classic. Made them for the first time last night and it is safe to say they were a hit. Maybe it's the cream cheese frosting, maybe it's that special cake batter - all I know is everyone seems to like red velvet cupcakes! If you are looking for an easy recipe, look for the Barefoot Contessa's mix in your gourmet grocery store. Mmmmm mmmm, good!

Newsflash: winter doldrums ahead. An easy way to spice up the ol' wardrobe - tights! Patterned tights are very '09/'10 and take day ensembles to night quite easily. The best part, all the tights featured range from $5 - $18 via Forever 21 & Urban Outfitters. (for more ideas, see entry "Sensing a Pattern")

It's no secret I love French food. What's not to love? Croissants, cheese, wine, champagne...cheese. Did I mention cheese? Here are two pics from one of my favorite French bistros in NYC - Le Grainne Cafe. Great people watching, too! http://http//www.legrainnecafe.com/photos1.htm

Perhaps a job hazard...I see it as a perk more often. I have an obsessive habit of hoarding beauty products. No doubt I am enabled by working for a beauty website; but I have come to the conclusion that it's out of hand and there isn't a girl on the planet that needs this much, well...beauty. I can't just throw it all away can I?
