4 days is 4 days too long.

I had a great time in New York despite the massive snowstorm I witnessed. But, I have to say...4 days is 4 days too long to be away from The Boy. I missed him.

Thanks a bunch!

Just wanted to say "thanks a bunch" for all of your comments and kind words. You make me smile and I kinda like having new friends. It's pretty neat. Makes my day.

That said, I had a welcome surprise from one of my favorite blogs the other day. I received my first blogger award. I was so excited!

Beautiful blogger – to the bloggers who consistently produce beautiful images and ideas which are so often a spring board for the imagination.

Thank you City Girl Chicago! I am excited to pass this on to some of the other blogs admire. You're definitely one of them. Happy weekend!

Sights and sounds

I found this map of NYC and loved it for all the visual landmarks and neato illustrations. Makes me excited to visit...even if I am there biweekly. There is always something new to discover!

Holly go nighty.

Because I am every bit obsessed with this movie. If I wear these...will I look like her when I wake up?

Mind over matter

Just when I thought I would go on a spending hiatus...out came Spring fashion! I am coveting the above trousers. They just scream Spring to me. And I see these being a quick fix for running errands on a Saturday to a lazy lunch outside. Just $39! Should I pull the trigger or see if the Easter bunny leaves me a treat? (ahem...hint, hint to "Mom the Easter Bunny")

Work out couture

You guys know how much I love skulls right? I have a surplus of skull gear including but not limited to rings, necklaces, long sleeve tees, short sleeve tees, scarves and more. You can imagine the joy I found when I went for my biweekly pilates session and saw this cute, local designer featured in my studio. She hand dyes and screens skeletons in various yogi and pilates poses. So clever! Me thinks I need to add this to my workout couture. Do you concur?

Bath & Beauty

New beauty review. I normally don't write much about beauty on here because I host a separate blog with my company, Pretty City, where I write about ALL things beauty. Having that said...these were too good to pass up. I wanted to share with YOU!

I purchased L'Occitane's lavendar bar soap yesterday because I...well...ermm...I ran out of soap and was desperate. A luxury soap indeed, but worth the little treat I allowed myself. A girl has to stay clean, right? And it just so happens I was out of my all-time favorite shampoo. So I went on a limb and purchased Mr. Fekkai's Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner. Well, color me happy! Both products have amazing scents. Lavendar goes without saying and the shampoo smells like ripe grapefruit. It's nice to change things up and I would recommend both products. 5 out of 5 smooches!

Leaving on a jet plane...

but I am only going to NYC and will be back on Friday. A lot of work mixed with a little bit of play. I get to see my girl E and scope out the aftermath of NYFW. Mucho snaps to come!

Evacuate the dance floor

Pics from a really fun wedding last night. The bride was stunning and good news dear readers! The yellow dress was a hit with red peep-toe pumps and clutch. I even had a good hair day! Thanks for all your accessorizing help. {Enjoy my sweet dance moves}

A "love"ly day.

I spent a lovely day with my friend E last Saturday. We went to the Field Museum for the Diamond exhibit. Lunch (aka comfort food fest) followed at Fox & Obel. It was a carefree, easy, blissful outing just like my friendship with E. I wish every day was like that but then again...would you treasure the real special ones just the same? Probably not. I like it that way.

Loving lace.

I am loving lace right now. And true to my shopping urges and recessionista attitude - I decided to add one staple piece, ok it was actually two but I digress, to the wardrobe. Exhibit A: the ivory lacy mini dress for a mere $28 @ F21! I plan on toughening it up with some black tights, bangles, military blazer and killer shooties for a wedding rehearsal dinner tonight. *squeal* I love making new outfits and I love attending weddings! Pics to follow as long as I can find the right photo opp!

This was worthy of a post! The boy thought that my dainty, feminine bulletin board would be a great home for his shooting range target. Mind you this bulletin board is in my office...where I often desire a big shooting range target to gaze at and inspire me. I think it goes well with the black & white damask background. Most importantly I think he wanted to show off just how accurate he was in hitting his target right in el corazon. That guy would be dead for sure...nerd.

Fat Tuesday

Here are a few snaps from our beloved neighborhood watering hole - Toons. We honored Fat Tuesday by drinking a few brew dogs and munching on some NO cuisine. I just went for the beads...clearly. However, I decided to put some thought into lent this year and went with giving up sweets including but not limited to candy, cupcakes (UGH!), cookies, brownies, etc. Wish me luck!

Rings that you make go hmmmm...

God, I kill myself. I think this blog title is my single, most favorite to date.

On to the important stuff. I have blogged about my devotion to a well-accessorized hand before. {here} And now, I have chosen some new favorites to add to your F21 collection. All under $10 and ready to rock! (pun intended...ok, I'll stop) (you laughed a little, right?)

International affair

So I am playing around with the idea of traveling to London then Morocco for a couple of weeks at the end of the summer. Can you imagine the colorful pics from that trip? I have some opposing forces telling me not to but...well, much longer will I be able to do this kinda stuff?

What is the most exotic place you traveled and why did you love it?

Good eats and V Day treats.

V Day was all about a culinary the casa. For once, fashion was not a priority (as you can plainly see) while food became the main event. We baked red velvet cupcakes using Sprinkles infamous recipe only we added a twist in dyeing the frosting a nice shade of PINK! Next up was seafood + chicken paella paired with a nice bottle of Veuve Cliquot Rose (which is not normally paired with paella but I am the Cruise Director today, folks!) The end result...AMAZING food and a relaxing day/night. Hallmark holidays need not apply here.
