This is my year...

...that's what my friend Tanya said when texting me about our pumpkin contest last night. Tanya knows that my designs always get beat...but something tells me this year, yeah, I have a fighting chance. So - I am going to leave it up to you dear, readers. We have three pumpkins below. Leave a comment and let me know which one you like best. Your vote could break the mold and indeed make year! Couple team J+M, husband and I carved but they are in random order. Which do you like best?

ACCESSORIES! I love this photo straight from the Elle accessories department. {Olivia...if you had anything to do with this - I commend} Plus it makes me feel reeeeally normal about my shoe collection.

Little skip in your step...

Hoorah...another Friday at last! Feelin' a little skip in my step...happy weekend!

Everything little thing she does is magic...

...just a little creative juice from the Messiah, herself. Is there anything this woman cannot do?

Happy Halloween!

Stiletto Steals

This week's edition of "Stiletto Steals" hails from a tried and true: Jeffrey Campbell. I never met a pair of shoes or an article of clothing with the words "nude" or "metallic" that I didn't like. Jeffrey's "Frack" boots take the cake! The copper, metallic heel alone had me swooning and I love the shape of them, almost like the legs of my favorite ottoman at home. Warning, these must be sprayed but upon completion I can picture opaque or patterned tights and your most fashionable shift dress. Or skinny jeans.

You know what stinks? Budgets. Those are a bummer. So for now...I will just have to ogle them from afar. That is unless Santa tosses an extra pair down the chimney...!

Don't sue me...

but I kinda "heart" this...with a plate of warm cookies and a dirty martini, of course.

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to
look beyond the imperfections.”

PS. I came across a truly inspiring blog via Chicago Girl Gone Mild. You need to check it out. Between tears and smiles, I read and read and became fascinated with this family's strength and the ability to "enjoy the small things."

DIY Project: Finished Vintage Hutch

I painted it "Bicycle Yellow". Remember the before picture?
So cool...the light was in perfect, working condition.

...a glimpse inside.

Dessert plates from MIL and salt & pepper shakers thrifted for $1.50. I died.

...and I am also a collector of owls. Found these gold-etched, owl rocks glasses for .50 each!

Pumpkin patch

I've never been to a REAL pumpkin patch. Saturday was a fun day!

...Lucy loved it, too.

Husband had a little "Captain" in him this afternoon. See top, left hand corner.

For some reason this pumpkin on the vine reminded me of Cinderella's magical carriage.
Remember that part?

Song of the week.

Originally sung by Bob Dylan...this version is extra special to me.

Fiesta Friday

Today is an important day and one that I am v. excited for. Mutual friends that I adore - Aren and Clara - are getting married and I couldn't be happier for them! And I do love a fancy, city wedding. Can't beat 'em. Bright lights, big city = party dress and blow-outs! Looking forward to catching up with old friends, belly aching laughs and lots of champers. Do enjoy your weekend as well! xo

Vampire Bites

photos courtesy Urban Decay
I've packed up the summer glossies and moved onto Fall lip stains. Smart you say? I agree. And while I don’t subscribe to The Vampire Diaries…I don’t go bananas over Twilight…I still appreciate the “vamp” look and it is after all, October. So here it goes…I am in love with “Love Junkie” by Urban Decay. It smells and tastes like peppermint and looks like I have a fresh coat of varnish on my lips. Yeah, I like them super slick! From the source describing the Lip Junkie Gloss in “Love Junkie”, this is a “deep but very sheer wine” tint. The way I see it – it looks like a vampire bite. Just a tiny hint of purplish-red in the gloss but sheer to the sheerest! It’s $16…go buy it. Even if you do get a vampire bite come All Hallow’s Eve - at least your breath will smell like peppermint. Roar!

Stiletto Steals

This week's edition of "Stiletto Steals" is brought to you by Sam Edelman. Enter the "Nivan T-Strap Platform." I don't know what to say...  It's the prettiest gold, platform with the finest stiletto spike complete with a lovely teardrop peep toe. Perfection at $98. I'm still not sure that I can rock socks with my platforms but that's my own insecurity. You need to see them for yourself. *swoon*

My heart went pitter-pat...

photos courtesy Chris Benz 2011 Resort Collection
I can't say that I am well-versed in Chris Benz but these photos from his 2011 Resort Collection evoked an audible gasp. Something very Jackie Kennedy meets Ladies-Who-Lunch about his pieces. Very 50's. I've decided I was born in the wrong era.

Sequins forever

Is it any wonder that I love sequins so much? {see herehere, here, here and here} Lucky for us all - sequins are back in a big way for the second season in a row. And yes, I will take one of all of the above. Thank you!

Scary soiree

During my weekend Etsy surfing, I happened to find the most spooktacular party decorations to get me in the mood for Halloween. Actually, it made me crave a Halloween soiree of my own! There are gobs of ideas including costumes for you and the lil' one. So the question is - do I try and pull together a last minute Halloween party? Decisions, decisions.

Gallery Walls. This is exactly what I want my entry way to look like. The best part? If you get bored...rearrange the art! I love the mix of quirky and classic mixed together.

Yeah, it's like that...

I have no meetings today which is a rarity. Got me some busy work which means I can be as comfy as I wanna be. This weekend is full of fun due to an unexpected change of plans including: a staycation, an antique fair, cooking up some new recipes and some QT time with my Grams. Hoping this Fall weather holds and I can throw on a sweater and some jeans and get OUTDOORS! Hope you enjoy yours. xo

P.S. We are 1/2 way through the month...don't forget there are amazing, new $31 spa and salon deals to be had. Book it sisters!

Song of the week.

Mad World by Gary Jules. I think the cinematography in this video is really unique. Pretty song.

Stiletto Steals

photos courtesy Aldo
This week's edition of "Stiletto Steals" is brought to you by Aldo. I couldn't pass these up. They just scream Fall to me and this shade of ruby red is so enticing. It's a nice change of pace to your black stiletto staples. The "Botkins" have that luxe suede look for a reasonable price - $90. But oh' the versatility - plus I am a sucker for 3" heels. Who doesn't want longer legs? I especially love the side scalloping as an added surprise. Last but not least, the toe bed has that same shape as my beloved and coveted Loubies {I will own you!} that show just enough toe cleavage but not too much. Somehow it makes your foot look sexier...but we will leave that to the Shoe Gods. I am just a girl hungry for more heels. xo
