Star light, star bright...

I consider myself pretty lucky. In fact, 2010 was a pretty lucky year for me in a lot of ways. One of the cool aspects of this year was the places I traveled. Some domestic and one across the pond, we've started a new tradition in which we collect an ornament from every place we've been. It has to be one of those big, Radko-esque looking ornaments to really pop on the tree. Without further adieu...

Thailand

Napa

San Francisco

Seattle

Not sure what's cookin' for 2011 but it sure is fun to imagine!
Where did you travel this year?

Party weave

I didn't subscribe to the whole "cross-body" purse thing originally...but this my dear friends...this I would definitely feel comfortable adding to the handbag collection. Bronze leather and tassles. Sold!

Song of the week.

I like their voices together. And I like this song very much. Reminds me of lazy, summer days.

Full of thanks...

Uggg...feeling a little full from Turkey Day? Me, too! Here's the good news...it's only Saturday. I am currently debating on getting some shopping done or putting up the tree. Pretty sure a workout is in order, too!

Whatever you decide to do...have a fantastic weekend!

All natural cupcakes. Hooray!

I was recently gifted a humongous box of mixes ranging from scones to cupcakes to even dog treats courtesy Iveta Gourmet. The cool think about it? The mixes are all natural! I decided to test one on Saturday and opted for the Chocolate Coconut cupcakes. So easy to make and so dang good. Cream cheese frosting and moist cake even after 2 days of refrigerator time. 4 our of 4 spatulas to this budding kitchen diva!

Christmas is here!

...taken with a phone hence the weird discoloration of my face?! I look like an oompa loompa.

Saturday marked the beginning of Christmas...for me at least! Actually, I would be willing to bet that 100's of children agree with me judging from the screams and squeaks we heard during the Illuminating Ceremony that lit up Michigan Avenue as little ones sat perched on their dad's shoulders vying for Mickey's attention. It was all sorts of festive. After the parade we sat in the window of a local bar and people watched for hours. Classic Chicago only a little bit more cheery. Good stuff.

Feet back on the ground...

I just got back from my last trip to NYC for 2010. Good to be back! It's really been hitting me lately that 2010 is almost over. This year has gone by so fast it's hard to remember every detail. I am grateful for so many things and while I am thinking of it...a little thank you to those who continue to read and leave comments for me. It's been fun getting to know you and your blogs. Keep 'em coming and thank you!

Happy Friday!

Hawk-nation

Despite an epic loss, the Iowa/Northwestern game was fun. I've never seen a tailgate furnished so well. Good thing, too because it poured out!

How was your weekend?

Date night.

Friday night was date night. Sorta. I say sorta because we got to the Athenian Room at 6:00pm and literally finished our dinner by 6:28pm. Yeah...we housed those gyro dinners. Not normal and not a typical date which consists of lingering courses and conversation. I had a sweet tooth after so I coerced husband to walk to Swirlz for an after-dinner cupcake. Nom. Nom. And I have to comment on two things:
  1. I love the slogan that Swirlz has posted all over the store: "cupcakes make people happy" YES!
  2. Don't ask me why I look like such a discombobulated mess. It was windy and my coat doesn't match my purse and I really didn't care. That cupcake was worth the public humiliation.
See what my best friend, Tina Fey, has to say about Athenian Room...and Chicago.
The end.

My muse

This picture was my muse for the office makeover. Although slightly different, the Tiffany blue walls were the focal point...well, that and Audrey. After searching for that desk for close to three years, I settled on a more practical option with some added pops of color but I still love the office pictured above.

And now the moment you've been waiting for - the big unveiling...ta da!!!!

Remember this chair? So much better!

The End.

Did someone say...

"let's go for a walk?" Probably one of my most favorite pictures of Lucy. She has that, "Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis" look in her eyes. Such a character my pup is.

Men of Louis Vuitton

photos courtesy The Selby
I have been lusting after these Selby images featuring the men of Louis Vuitton. Classic and timeless like Sean Connery. Maybe that's why LV used him for their ad campaign two years ago. I would give my left arm for an old LV trunk or suitcase to position "just so" at the foot of my bed. *sigh*

"Here are some of my favorite images from my shoots of Ruben Toledo in his studio, Andre Balazs in his office and Waris Ahluwalia in his office for Louis Vuitton. These images were part of a collaboration that I did with Louis Vuitton's Men's Press Office relating to the Fall 2010 Louis Vuitton Men's Collection." - The Selby

French daydreams

...daydreaming what it would be like to nosh on these whilst gazing at the Eiffel Tower. Sound good to you?

Until then - TGIF and have a wonderful weekend! {can you believe it's still in the 60's?!}

*NEW SERIES* Litany of Love

The sheer amount of websites I encounter in one week is humongous. And sometimes I find such lovely links but cannot create an entire post out of them. I think I've found a home for them now. Enjoy my new Friday feature:

  2. Cozy slipper socks. I am ready.
  3. The Ming Lacquer Chest. Perfect for any entry way.

  9. Add a little glitter to your shoe wardrobe.
  10. Sweet scented wipes for your hands. I'm hungry.
