Gifting Guide: for the nanny

There is one thing I know for certain after experiencing mommyhood these last six months - we would be up the creek without a paddle had it not been for our nanny. She is indeed the most amazing nanny in all the land. Just ask Olivia. She's kind, loving, responsible and funny. There's something very endearing about my daughter's smile when our nanny walks in the room - she LOVES her. We are aware that we hit the jackpot so I've been rounding up ideas on the perfect holiday gift for her. Something that is as special as she is. Here are my picks:
  1. Fur vest
  2. Sephora sampler
  3. Vase
  4. Heart tote
  5. Gold earrings
Do you guys have any more ideas? I'd love to hear 'em!

  1. ummmm can be o's nanny? lol
she's a lucky girl, i think the fur vest is perfect!

  2. Love that you did this post! I was a nanny for the summer it I have to say it was one of my favorite summer jobs after college!

  3. What a great lady to have in your life - I'm sure she'd love that heart tote as much as I do!

  4. haha I'm with zoe...let us know if you ever begin taking applications ;)

I'd take any of the above!

I used to be a nanny at a church nursery for three years...it was a large church in Lake Forest (so, obviously, the church goers were all very well off). And would you believe that I never, ever received so much as a small giftcard for the holidays? I was a bit stunned (not that I expected anything, really, but a small token would have been nice)

So.....I'm sure your nanny will really love and appreciate whatever it is you choose :)

  5. love your picks! perhaps another idea would be a luxury pair of slippers to wear around the house in the winter while watching baby O. Working from home, I swear by my ugg slippers :) Ok, perhaps it's not the most fashionable of items, but they're so appreciated! my husband won't even travel without his ~ ha!

  6. I love the vase! It's unique and very pretty. :)

  7. I adore the heart bag, but of course they're all fabulous! A beauty/spa service could be nice as well, massage maybe?

  8. Oooh I adore the vase and earrings!!

  9. Sounds like you guys lucked out in the nanny department! Our nanny Fanny lived with us until I was 5, but she's still at every Christmas, birthday, 4th of July-and I can't imagine life without all three of my parents!

  10. My best friend was a nanny for years- she is still close with the family. And she treasures a pair of earrings she received one year from the fam. I say go with the earrings- every time she wears them she'll think of you and your adorable family!

  11. Loving that heart tote! We can buy ourselves one gift every year, right? Haha

  12. I admire that vase every time I go into Anthro! Such sweet gifts for your nanny!
