So...along with everyone's 2012 resolutions resonating in the blogosphere as of late...I thought I'd clean up my act as well. In the food department, that is. A friend of mine printed me a
3-day cleanse that husband and I are giving a shot; starting today. You can eat, too which let's face it - was a non-negotiable. I'd be lying if I said I didn't abuse chocolate over the holidays so to say this is not a test of my willpower would be an understatement. My hope is to detox, get rid of the cravings and maybe lose 2-3 lbs. This is our first shot at a cleanse. I am over the drinking but coffee...yikes, wish me luck!
Have you guys every detoxed or done a cleanse? What were the results? Would you ever do one again?

Good for you guys, good luck with it!
Ugh, I am on a pre-wedding 5 week no carbs/minimal booze diet and it's TERRIBLE! The no booze is fine but I am getting to the point where I would sell my wedding dress for a sandwich.
Will be worth it in the end though, they always are...
Every other year I do a meatless cleanse. So I guess that makes me a semi-annual vegetarian?? Elimination of meat is supposed to be good for you, plus it saves animals.
but to give up coffee?? I don't think I could do that... haha
Good luck. I've thought about doing one where you cut out meat, alcohol, etc. for two weeks. It's more of a beans, veggies, natural cleanse. I've never done it though. But I agree, you need to cleanse and still eat. It's way healthier that way. Good luck!
Let us know how it goes! You know I'm fascinated with a good, safe detox. So in this one, do you just eat all the recipes included in the link there? Because if so that seems totally doable!
@City Girl Chicago - so with this cleanse you eat the recipes for 3 days and they give you a flexible schedule of meals and snack. There are some fillers you have to make and add such as quinoa, greens, root vegetables, dried fruit and than flax seed oil, hemp seeds...for protein. It was quite the shopping list but the recipes were very easy to make.
I've done the black beam stew...very filling. The top recipe had ingredients I'd never heard of!
I have not... but I'm intriqued!
good luck - can't wait to hear how it goes!
Yeah,a cleanse would be a great idea after all that holiday eating!
However, during the winter months it's hard to do due to cold weather.
Good luck with yours!!Make sure you drink plenty of warm fluids!!

I did one that glamour magazine put out a year or so ago. It was one where you focused on all natural food and cut out processed food! And you got to eat! I am going to go check out this cleanse your friend sent you!
I know friends who have done this and loved it - can't wait to hear how it goes!
i always wanted to try one of these. just might have to give it a shot sometime!

I like to think that our regular meals are pretty cleanse-y, or at least they had to be after Christmas! We don't eat red meat, don't keep sugar in the house, and stock up on veggies, but there's no way to pry John away from his french press!
I've always wanted to try a simple cleanse. best of luck!
I'll let you be the guinea pig, and then if you're successful i'll give it a go (aka the way in which i can prolong my bad eating habits)
and as for the wedding in france, I'll keep you posted on the dates ;)
I'm reading this post and eating dark chocolate with peppermint. Guess I need to get in on this detox action too :)
Ohh cleanse - good luck I could never do it, I love food too much. Will have to ask you Monday :).
I haven't ever tried a cleans, but I would consider it. Good luck with yours.
